This is easy I will pass the GED in no time
Yahoo answers. it's free.
No, nothing will replace the one on one instruction. There are poor tutors just like there are poor teachers. Do look around and be sure to get references, don't be afraid to ask questions. See what resources the tutor has access to and knows how to use.
Man, this is a tutorial not a lap dance, lol.
Dear Acecxl,
That's a really good question. I am an American who has traveled abroad and worked as an English teacher in several countries. The online movement is good for both teachers and students but there are things to watch out for.
I think there are both pluses and minuses of learning a language online. Clearly the advantages of learning online are convenience, lower cost and more flexibility. The disadvantages are lack of trust, second rate teaching and the BIG shocker- non native english speakers trying to teach the language for an extra buck.
I have a friend who worked for a Korean company that hired cheap filipino labor straight out of high school and then passed them off as qualified english teachers. There are companies in India who do the same. These services are all cheap but the quality is seriously questionable.
My recommendation would be to pay a little extra and learn from a reputable company who has qualified American, Canadian or British teachers. My friend told me that some really good online English tutoring services are http://www.english4today.com, http://www.ngenglish.com and Onlinetutorforenglish.
Good luck with English Classes
John Bridges-
trymango.com its like rosetta stone ony its free, its really good and will teach you that basics fast, and since you speak spanish even faster.
Joe Satriani taught Kirk Hammett, of Metallica fame. He taught Little Stevie Vai, too. Get a chord and scale book. Just as effective as any online tutor.
The book "Accelerated C++" might be what you're looking for, or closer too it. It skips over a bit of the nontrivial stuff, while maintaining focus on the useful concepts. However, to learn all the subtle differences between C++ and Java, you either need to find out the hard way by applying Java specific code to your C++ program and discovering that it doesn't work the way you expected, or you need to work through the basic examples in a C++ text.
NICE,
http://www.learninghour.com/ is a fantastic Indian based tutorial site. I have tried it for my daughter and it has worked wonders with her specially in maths. Her results are great!!! Any parent who is not able to afford tuitions or incapable of teaching maths should try this site.
Are you joking, jala? This is FAR from confusing! I bet even fifth graders can do this but they aren’t introduced to this formula at that time. If you tell a fifth grader what to do they can do it easily. No one uses a different method unless they are CRAZY = )
I honestly think the best way to study is to practice as many questions and practice exams as you can and hire a tutor who can pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses and motivate/push you to study and achieve your goals.
I think online prep course is great if you get a lot of practice exams–but once school starts, do you really have time and the dedication/motivation to "work at your own pace"? Please do not be offended–but most students are not determined and motivated–and even if they do, it's difficult because you have APs and other extracurricular activities to worry about once school starts. Then when you stop practicing online, then your money goes to waste, you're running out of time, and subsequently might not do as well as you would hope for.
A lot of my students start getting ready as early as their freshman year. This way they have plenty of time developing skills and solidifying the basics before school gets to hectic junior year. The benefit of having a tutor is that he or she can help you and give you strategies to do well on top of you knowing the basics.
If tutoring isn't really an option for you because you are worrying about the cost–then I would suggest you getting reference books from the library or the bookstore such as Barron's and Princeton Review.
Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions or study tips! I'm here to help.
